The Kiss

French photographer, Robert Doisneau's most famous photograph "The Kiss at the Hotel de Ville" has a surprising history. This classic photograph forever been associated with Paris and romance.  This photo was taken in 1950 originally for Life Magazine and became the subject of some controversy when the couple claimed he had used their likenesses without permission. They sued him as a result. Courts dismissed any claims, and one woman auctioned her print for $242,000.
